As summer gives way to fall, Grand Teton National Park transforms into a breathtaking landscape of golden aspens, crisp mountain air, and spectacular autumn colors. The towering peaks of the Tetons provide a dramatic backdrop as the valleys below turn brilliant shades of yellow, orange, and gold. It's one of the most beautiful times of year to experience and photograph this remarkable landscape.
Fall in the Grand Tetons is a season of incredible contrasts. The rugged mountain peaks may receive their first dusting of snow, while the valleys glow with vibrant fall foliage. The Snake River winds through the landscape, reflecting the changing colors and dramatic mountain scenery. Cool mornings often bring mist rising from the rivers and lakes, creating beautiful opportunities for landscape photography.
For wildlife photographers, fall is an especially exciting time. The elk rut is in full swing, with the haunting sounds of bugling bulls echoing through the valleys. Moose become more active during their breeding season, often providing wonderful photographic opportunities. Bison roam the open grasslands, while bears prepare for the coming winter. Every day brings the possibility of a memorable wildlife encounter.
The changing light of autumn adds another dimension to the experience. Golden morning light illuminates the jagged peaks, while evening sunsets create beautiful colors across the mountains and valleys. Whether we're photographing reflections at Oxbow Bend, exploring historic Mormon Row, or searching for wildlife along the Snake River, there is no shortage of incredible scenes waiting to be captured.
Join us as we explore the Grand Tetons during one of the most spectacular seasons of the year. With our small group and hands-on photography instruction, we'll take advantage of the best light, beautiful fall colors, and exciting wildlife opportunities. From iconic landscapes to those unexpected moments that make a photograph truly special, our goal is to help you come home with images you'll be proud to share.

Expect warm pleasant days with cold mornings and nights. The weather can prove unpredictable in the Grand Tetons and can change on a moment’s notice. Remember some of the best photographs are made before, during and immediately after a storm cycle. There is no such thing as bad weather just poor layering and gear choices – please plan accordingly! Make sure you are prepared for rain and snow!
